Reducing cybersecurity risks with Azure and Microsoft 365

Threat protection, encryption, multi-factor authentication and timely updates come with Azure and Microsoft 365. How to use them well without extra staff.

Cybersecurity is a top priority for every business. Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, which was still called Office 365 when this post was first published, protect you against ransomware and other threats out of the box, provided they are switched on and configured well. This is what they offer.

  1. Threat protection. Microsoft Defender protects mail, files, devices and cloud resources against known and unknown malware. It uses machine learning, anomaly detection and behaviour analysis to stop threats before they do damage.

  4. Timely updates. Microsoft keeps the platform patched against new threats, without your team having to schedule it.
  5. Compliance. Azure and Microsoft 365 are certified against a broad set of international standards, including the information security standard ISO 27001, and support your obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Cyberbeveiligingswet, the Dutch implementation of the European Network and Information Security directive (NIS2).
